NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
   

August 2008 -Terry Wynter Auto Service Center will begin offering ServiceIntelligence. This program will make vehicle maintenance simple by tracking the date and mileage for services due and make recommendations for each of our customers' vehicles.

May 2008 -Terry & Kay Wynter graduated from the Automotive Management Institute with Accredited Automotive Management Certification. This certification is a result of many hours of management training and exemplifies their commitment toward continuous education.

April 2008 -Check it out! Terry has been quoted in the April 2008 issue of Consumer Reports. This highly esteemed magazine contacted Terry for input concerning an article written about extended automotive warranties.

March 2007 -Terry Wynter has been selected by the Automotive Service Association to serve on the Mechanical Operations Committee in a national level capacity. Terry will work with nine other shop owners from all over the country on issues which are important to the auto repair industry.

March 2007 -Terry Wynter Auto Service Center has been approved as an AAA authorized service center. The AAA requirements are stringent and the shop received one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings awarded by AAA.

February 2007 -Kay Wynter has been selected by A/C Delco to serve on their National Advisory Council. She will be the first woman to hold this position in a male dominated organization. The term will be for three years during which she will consult with the A/C Delco management team concerning marketing, education, product development and many other aspects of the automotive parts industry.

TOP SHOPS AWARDED THE 2007 BLUE SEAL OF EXCELLENCE

July 2007 . . . Fort Myers, FL . . . We have received notification again, that Terry Wynter Auto Service Center has passed the stringent qualifications required by the ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) to earn and display the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence in 2007.

Awarded only to the automobile service industry's top shops, the Blue Seal of Excellence represents the combined skills, experience & knowledge held collectively by the shop's professional crew of ASE certified technicians.

Throughout their careers, technicians must continue to earn individual certifications that contribute to the overall qualifications required of the companies who display the Blue Seal of Excellence.

To qualify as a Blue Seal establishment, a repair business like Terry Wynter Auto Service Center must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 75% of its technicians must be ASE-certified.
  • At least one technician must be ASE-certified in each area of service offered by the business.
  • And to ensure that professional certification credentials remain current, ASE reviews the status of each establishment annually.
The Blue Seal of Excellence is one more important way we work as a team to insure that our customers receive the best auto service available.

OUR HISTORY
   
Terry Wynter grew up in San Antonio, Texas where he was raised after being born, in California. He now calls Fort Myers, Florida his home. A resident of Fort Myers since 1978, Terry and his partner wife, Kay, share a full life and are the heads of a warm family home, in addition to, managing a successful business together.

Terry's good name & reputation are reflected in the continued success of the auto service center that employees a highly qualified staff of master technicians who serve old and new customers alike. The staff of Terry Wynter AUTO Service Center provides expert service on all new cars, as well as, favorite classic cars. But most importantly, these guys know how to make them 'run like a charm'.

Established in 1996, this busy auto service business was initiated in an eight bay, rental property. In May of 2000, the operation moved to its present location where it had eleven bays. Then in March 2002, the business was expanded again and in the process nine more bays were added. Today, the Terry Wynter AUTO Service Center is a busy 22 bay shop.

Terry's able leadership, much like his favorite cars, runs smoothly and in balance with his seasoned management skills, later tech & early wrench experiences. As car technology advanced into the 21st century, Terry worked for many years as a manager for some of the most well known 'big guys' in the automobile service business.

It's not surprising that folks who knew Terry then, now send the younger generation of their families to Terry's shop for car service today. Over the years, Terry Wynter AUTO Service Center has earned a solid reputation for delivering the kind of car care service a new customer can always rely on without a doubt. The shop's longtime customers all know already that the next time their car needs service they can relax.

All in all, the shop is a product of Terry's original interest and passion for cars. A passion that he enjoyed when he was very young, when he first took high school shop classes, tuned big engines with his brothers, and raced his fast cars regularly. Proving himself to be a genuine 'leader of the pack', Terry and his staff are planning to keep cars in the growing Fort Myers community 'running right', for many years to come.

 

 

ASE BLUE SEAL OF EXCELLENCE
 
We earn the Blue Seal of Excellence recognition awarded annually by the ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence). In doing so, we have learned that



ASE is well known as the industry-leading certification program for automotive professionals. ASE certification means that an individual has passed tough industry-developed exams and meets experience requirements.

The ASE Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition goes a step further by identifying those establishments that have a large percentage of certified professionals and a certified professional in each area of service offered. It's a commitment that earns only the best establishments the recognition to stand out from the crowd.

NASCAR LEGEND VISITS SHOP

In September 2000, legendary racecar driver Bobby Allison, that's right - and his film crew used the Terry Wynter AUTO Service Center shop as the backdrop for a special documentary film. Bobby and Mrs. Allison visited Southwest Florida together and spent some time at the shop while Bobby participated in the production of a short film about 'How to Select an Auto Repair Service Team'. We think they came to the right place all right!
 

 

PUBLIC SERVICE ENDEAVORS
   
Currently we are regular contributors to three larger organizations, in addition to many other organizations, individual schools, students, local residents and area business people.

  • The daily effort to fill the unmet needs of people in our local community provided by the Nations Association, led by Rev. Israel Suarez.
  • The programs of the recently founded Florida Repertory Theatre that's given new life to the vintage era Arcade Theatre in downtown Fort Myers.

  • In support of community-based after school activities of the Fort Myers Boys & Girls Club that provides kids with a place to meet and recreate together.

We are always open to learning about additional, new ways we can assist or contribute directly to the local community. As our business grows, Terry Wynter AUTO Service Center looks forward to adding other special efforts to our list in the future.
